Some balance

There are many things I cannot control or have but a minute influence. That includes many important matter, say world politics, wars, or even my local government.

It's a horrible tension between what I can accomplish (or even understand) and what I feel responsible for. And, as the song says, "we didn't start the fire", meaning there's always been a lot of that stuff in the world. Even as a problem is solved, or more likely, fades away, out-of-fashion, new ones are added the whole time.

Meanwhile there are small, much less important problems I can tend to, or even attempt to solve, or help effectively.

I struggle to find balance as I should. The thing I have accomplished, so far, is not to get mad a people who disagree with me. At least have with them the same compassion I have with my past, or future self. You know, I've been wrong before and there's no indication I'll be perfect in some mythic future.
